Bodog Poker Room

Written by

The other day Bodog updated their poker software. While the poker software looks much better, it appears to run a little slow. To make sure I was not the only one who thought this, I asked some other poker players. They confirmed that the software was indeed running slower. One feature that’s nice is the multi-table side window. If you like playing multiple tables, it should be a little easier now. Overall the software is pretty decent. It has a nice find a table feature.

The Bodog poker room itself is ok. While there’s not an enormous amount of players as some other poker rooms, there are plenty to make for some good games—even late in the night. New poker players might want to check out the Bodog poker room, because they have some very low limit tables there. Can you say five-cent poker? I don’t think Bodog’s poker software has many frills, but that’s not an important aspect to me. You can upload a custom picture though.

One great feature for you new poker players looking to get into a tournament is their beginner’s tournament. You start out with 1,000 chips and go to war with the other players—who may or may not be beginners. A tournament entry is just $4.40–$4 for the tournament prize pool and 40 cents to the house. The nice thing here is that five positions out of ten pay. The fifth place finisher will receive their $4 entry fee back. The downside is that the top places are paid a little less to account for the five payoff slots, but it’s a great thing for beginners who are looking to get their feet wet.

If you are looking for a new poker room or are new and need a place with really low limits to practice on, try Bodog.com.

I’m not too cracked up about the new Bodog site myself. I liked the old one fine, but something
about the new color theme and layout gives me a headache. The Beginner SnG structure is ok though.
