Preakness Stakes

Written by

Tomorrow at Pimlico Race Course, the Preakness Stakes will take place and we will see if Barbaro can capture the second jewel of the Triple Crown. When Barbaro took the first leg of the Triple Crown a couple of weeks ago, he did so on over a month of rest. He’s now going up against the field with less rest and here’s were we get to see just how tough he is (or isn’t). The field is just nine tomorrow, but there are some horses that Barbaro needs to watch out for.

Here are the starting lines on the horses along with their starting spot and jockey.

#1 Like Now (Gomez) 12-1
#2 Platinum Couple (Espinoza) 50-1
#3 Hemingway’s Key (Rose) 30-1
#4 Greeley’s Legacy (Migliore) 20-1
#5 Brother Derek (Solis) 3-1
#6 Barbaro (Prado) 1-1
#7 SweetNorthernSaint (Desormeaux) 4-1
#8 Bernardini (Castellano) 8-1
#9 Diabolical (Dominguez) 30-1

If you bet in Vegas, you can also bet on match ups and more. Some online sportsbooks may have this action as well. You can also bet if you think Barbaro will win the Triple Crown or not. My money is against Barbaro doing it. It’s one thing to race with a month off, it’s another to have three races within a 4-6 week span and against horses that are fresher.
