Casino Sucker Bets
The casino is full of sucker bets. A “sucker bet” is basically a bet that has a high advantage for the house and is not a wise play for bettors. Today, I will give you a quick list of some sucker bets. If you think I missed some or want to discuss this subject, leave your feedback.
Craps
This is pretty simple. Anything in the middle is a sucker bet. The middle of the craps table is where all the prop bets are located (hardways, craps, horn, etc). Betting on props will turn a respectable game, advantage-wise, into a nightmare.
Blackjack
Betting on insurance in blackjack is a no-no. The house has a huge advantage here and always taking insurance will turn blackjack into a carnival game. Some will argue that taking insurance in specific situations is ok.
Baccarat
The sucker bet in Baccarat is the tie bet. Baccarat is the best game in the house to play, but betting for ties will turn it upside down. Also, no matter what any dealer tells you, ties don’t often repeat—common solicitation speech.
Roulette
Well, one could argue that the whole game is a sucker’s bet, because of the high house advantage. I’ll leave it at that. If you want to discuss anything in particular, leave your comments. There are certainly worse ways to bet your money in a casino.
Sports Betting
Betting parlay cards is the sucker’s play in sports betting. As you add more teams to your parlay bet, the value keeps decreasing at an alarming rate. Furthermore, it’s an all or nothing type play—unless the sports book offers a special parlay type bet.
Caribbean Stud Poker
Putting your money into the progressive jackpot is a sucker’s bet. Again, one could argue that the whole game is a sucker’s bet—but betting on the progressive is bad.
These are some of the common bets to ignore. Sure, if you are out just to have fun—go ahead and do whatever you like. However, if you are someone who likes to have fun and wants to maximize that fun—remove these bets from your mind.

what do you think about video poker and slots.
Any sucker bets or are both really sucker games?
Thanks

Slots are sucker games really. Most slot players know this, but they love playing them (and perhaps that’s what matters most). Video Poker is a little better and if you play it right, it can produce great results. As someone that’s won up to $4,000 in one hand on Video Poker, I would have a hard time bashing it too much. There are better games, but you need to weight the fun factor in with everything.
For instance, I love playing that stupid Wheel of Fortune game. Yes, it’s a bad bet, but when I hear “Wheel of Fortune!”, I get excited. :)
